Badge methodology
What a Reality Audit grade means.
The Reality Audit badge is a third-party relevancy diagnostic. A letter grade from A to F summarizes how a brand scores on four URL-scorable dimensions, against a stated target customer. The badge is the public artifact. The diagnostic that produced it sits at reality-audit.com/score/{brand} .
What gets measured
Four of the five Reality Audit dimensions are URL-scorable. The fifth, Channel-Audience Alignment, needs media data the URL cannot see and is reserved for the full engagement.
- Message-Market Fit → Does the headline name the buyer's actual problem in the buyer's actual vocabulary? Scored against the stated target customer, not generic.
- Audience Precision → Does the page filter for the right buyer or pretend everyone is the right buyer? Vague audiences score lower than narrow ones.
- Offer-Outcome Alignment → Does the offer reach the outcome the buyer came for, or does it stop at a feature list? Demos and feature pages without an outcome anchor score lower.
- Trust Signal Density → Customer names, real numbers, third-party validation per screen. Density matters more than presence.
The composite score (0-100) is the weighted average. Letter grades map: A is 90-100, B is 80-89, C is 70-79, D is 60-69, F is 0-59.

How brands use the badge
Brands embed the badge to publish a third-party assessment. The embed includes a link back to the scored audit page, which carries the full dimension breakdown, the top gap on each, and the stage-specific reading. Embeds support light and dark themes and ship as HTML or Markdown.
The grade is the diagnostic, not the verdict. C and D grade brands who embed publicly are signaling that they read the report and are willing to be measured. That is itself a trust signal.
What the badge is not
- Not a SEO score, not a Lighthouse score, not a brand sentiment score.
- Not a paid placement. Reality Audit does not sell grades.
- Not a snapshot of traffic, conversion, or revenue. It scores the page surface, not the funnel.
- Not a substitute for the full 5-dimension engagement, which is needed to score Channel-Audience Alignment.
